Choir Dedication Liturgy — Zambia

Call to Worship

‘Make a joyful noise to the LORD all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness. Come into God’s presence with singing.’

Statement of Purpose

I welcome you all in the name of Jesus.
We are gathered today to dedicate the ‘Amazing Choir’.

Hymns

O Jesus I have promised    (Bemba/English Hymnals 183)
All to Jesus I Surrender    (Bemba & English Hymnals 276)

Bible Reading       2 Chronicles 20:21-22

‘When he had taken counsel with the people, Jehoshaphat appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and praise God in holy splendour, as they went before the army, saying, ‘Give thanks to God whose steadfast love endures for ever.’ As they began to sing and praise, God set an ambush against the Ammonites, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were defeated.

Challenge

Therefore, I challenge you, Amazing Choir, as you get dedicated, to sing in an extraordinary manner which will be able to allow God to intervene in the lives of the people.

Promises

  1. Amazing Choir, are you willing to take up this role as your ministry?
Choir (in unison): Yes, we are.
  2. Are you willing to serve the Lord with all your generous time and resources?
Choir (in unison): Yes, we are.
  3. Are you willing to grow this group through prayer, Bible Study and love?
Choir (in unison): Yes, we are with God’s help.

Declaration/Dedication

I now dedicate you ‘Amazing Choir’ and present you before the LORD and this congregation in the name of Jesus. Amen.
