A Call to Worship written for young readers 

The bold lines might be said by a very young child.

I have so many questions, God!
Who are you? What are you?
How did you make the universe?
How did you make me? Whales, moose and bears?
Why do bad things happen
Even when we try our best to be kind and good?

I have so many questions, God!
Who are you? Where are you?
Do you really love me?
And my friends?
And my not-friends?
And even the people I don’t even know?
Do you really forgive us, no matter what?
Can I learn to do that, too?

I have so many questions, God!
Who are you? Are you really here right now?
As we worship? As we sing? As we pray?
As we talk and listen?

Be here God!
Because we have lots of questions.
And maybe, just maybe,
Our questions will bring us closer to you.
