Congregational Covenant

We, the people of [name of congregation/church] receive [name of new Minister/Pastor] as our minister/pastor and teacher.   We covenant to uphold her/him/they with our prayers, to share their/his/her joys and sorrows, to engage in relationship with her, share our stories, wrestle alongside her with questions of meaning and faith and walk together through the transitions of life.  We welcome her/his/their pastoral care and honour her/his/their wisdom, gifts and leadership.  Reaffirming our baptism, we covenant to work with [name of Pastor/Minister] to discern God’s call in our live, to follow the Holy Spirit’s way of reconciliation, and to share in Christ’s ministry of love.
