A desert voice rings out
to call the faithful near,
a voice that’s firm and strong
to sound both hope and fear.

This voice that rings with truth
will tell us how we fall,
then raise us from the dust,
and issue our new call.

We need that voice again
to pierce our world of gloom
with words that broaden minds
and make the Saviour room.

We hear that voice with joy.
It’s work, though not complete,
will press the message home
where peace and justice meet.
