God of choice and purpose,
as we enter a period before the election,
we pray you give us wisdom with this precious vote.
Help us choose elected officials who will stand up for all that is good and right in our community and nation.
May this election be about policy and not personality.
May there always be dignity and respect between opposing parties.
We pray for all the elected officials who work so hard for their constituents, some who following this election will be out of a job.
We pray for them and their families.
We pray always for love, acceptance and inclusion for all people, of all colour, wealth and sexual orientation.
