A door ajar,
a jar of light,
a light that is love.
The love that is God
calls us to open our hearts
and be the light, the love, the hope.

At the heart of Christmas is a story
that echoes all stories of love.
Stories that, in a whirlpool of creation,
draw together all experiences of life.
Glimpses of a stable, a star and gifting,
an unconditional outpouring of love
that showers the world,
like a warm snowstorm,
snowflakes dancing in the light of love.

However we phrase the story,
Christmas is a reminder
of the oneness of love.
Whoever we are,
wherever we are,
we are part of creation,
a part of the story and the story is love.

A door ajar,
a jar of light,
a light that is love,
a light with the power
to challenge the darkness
when we open the door and let love shine.
