Monthly Prayer Points for a just global climate

Worried about Climate Change?  Concerned for our environment?  Wanting to be a good steward of God’s creation?
Join other Christians committed to make a stand for climate justice.

Each month, a new ‘Prayer Point’ is posted on the website: Pray and Fast for the Climate.

Here is the posting for July 2023 as an example:

‘The heat is on’ as countries around the world experience record-breaking temperatures, while negotiators struggle to make progress in the UN climate talks. We give thanks for signs of climate action – increases in renewable capacity, a key referendum in Switzerland, progress to halt deforestation in Brazil, the Church of England’s decision to divest from fossil-fuel companies. Conscious how much more needs to be done, we pray or all affected by the heat and all working to take forward meaningful action in the global climate negotiations and also at national and local level.  – by Delia Lang

Pray and Fast for the Climate is supported by members of the ‘Faith for the Climate’ network in the United Kingdom, including the United Reformed Church, A Rocha UK, Christian Aid, Christian Concern for One World, Climate Stewards, Commitment for Life, Hope for the Future, Operation Noah, Our Voices, Shrinking the Footprint, SPEAK, Tearfund, the Baptist Union, the Church of England, and the Methodist Church.

The movement is calling on people to pray and fast on the first of each month at any time of day, on your own or with others – to choose a time that is appropriate for you.

You can find out more about Pray and Fast for the Climate on their website, which provides additional worship resources.
