We come with all that we carry:
our week, our worries, our hopes.
We come to worship God.
We lift our eyes to the hills—
where does our help come from?
Our help comes from God, the Maker of heaven and earth.
God is present.
God is faithful.
God is our help.
When our steps feel uncertain,
God will not let our foot slip.
When we feel unseen,
God, who watches over us, does not fall asleep.
The Creator watches over us.
the Creator is our shade in
the heat of the day.
In the brightness of our days and the depths of our nights,
in what we understand and what we cannot explain,
God keeps us.
Our Maker will keep us from all harm.
Our Maker will watch over our life.
As we gather in this place, let us be still for a moment
to remember that we are held,
and to place ourselves again in God’s care.
(a brief silence)
God watches over our coming and our going,
from this time on and for evermore.
Then let us worship God–
with trust, with gratitude, and with open hearts.
