Psalm 37 Renewed — Duncan Wilson, UK

Epiphany 7, Year C, Revised Common Lectionary

Neither be distracted by, nor be in awe of wicked people.
They will wither and fade like the desert grass.

Put your trust in the Holy One and steer a straight path.
Find there your heart’s desire.

Surrender to this way and find ever present help
so that you shine like the midday sun.
Wait patiently for the Holy One to take action
and do not let the success of the well-to-do disturb you.

Do not fret and get frustrated, it is a downward path.
Only those who trust the Holy One will inherit the homeland.

The wicked are due to vanish like the mist and to be seen no more.
Then those who humble themselves will enjoy peace and plenty.
