Inspired by Psalm 72

God of steadfastness and encouragement,
thank you for caring for us so much,
watching and waiting,
choosing just the right moment
to come into our world and into our lives.
You come with wisdom and understanding,
with justice for the poor,
bringing peace between predator and prey.
You come like sweet rain
releasing the scent of spring.
You come as the baby in the manger.
May you find the path before you straight.
May you find us open and willing to be moulded to your design, in the image of Christ.
Open our ears and hearts to your message for us this morning.
May our commitment be deepened and our lives refreshed.
Bless our time together as we worship you.
Renew us to shine light in the world, to the glory of Christ, our Prince of Peace, in whose name we pray.
