Standing on the side of truth, prayer

God, thank you for tools to help us discern Your will, and make right judgements.
Thank you for the inner stillness in each of us where we can go to find your Word and guidance.
Thank you for helping us stand firmly on the side of lasting truth and goodness amidst the confusions of today’s social issues.
Thank you for the peace in our hearts when we chose rightly and follow Christ closely.
Forgive us when we fall short of your and our own expectations.
Please hold the problems and concerns we are bringing to you today.
Continue to lighten our path with wisdom and understanding.
Make us willing instruments of your peace, love and justice.
Amen.

I’m unsure of the source of this prayer.  Either it’s written by George Douglas McClain, the Methodist Federation for Social Action or Ana and Tod Gobledale, inspired by words of George McClain.
