Loving God,
Raise me from earth’s water
Just enough for awe
Evoked by sights
Often not seen
Except for kindnesses
Offered by others
Whose love lifts me
To see otherwise overlooked
Beauty awaiting my wonder.
Grant me grace
To savour such sights
Of heaven and earth
Holding each other
In perpetual praise
Ancient and present.
As wind and water mould
Every mountain edge
Shape the landscape
Of my heart ever anew
Let baptisms of Spirit
Soften every rough place
Into forms fashioned by You,
Supple and ready
For storms and sun
Necessary for the growth
You desire in me
And the world.
