“How can this be?
In the Advent season, we prepare to say yes to God’s call, to step forward in courage, faith and hope, whatever that might look like in each of our lives.
God, forgive us for those times when we have allowed our doubts, our fears, and our uncertainty to stop us from stepping forward in love and in peace for justice. Empower us with the promise of your presence and with the power of your Spirit that we may say yes to your call. No matter how big, no matter how small, no matter how ridiculous or absurd that call seems. Move us outside of those spaces of comfort that we might truly be transformed and in so doing transform our world.
