Lectionary reading for Lent 2

God is like a light guiding us to safety,
building a strong wall around us
to keep us safe from harm.
Should evil forces threaten us
we will not be overcome.
Those who stand against God
are the ones who stumble and fall.

One thing we ask above everything,
and one thing we seek after,
that we may live under God’s watchful care
all the days of our life.

For God will be our shelter
when the storms of life overtake us,
God will cover and protect us
and make sure we stand on firm ground.
