Spirit of Gentleness, breath of live, source of our being, we are mindful that we are both kin and covenanted to you and one another. Even as we are bold to come before you with our prayers of petition for peace, we are mindful of our shortcomings. Not wanting to take advantage of your gracefulness and mercy, we freely confess our sins.
Love, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Spirit of Love, we have failed to do those things which you would have us do, and we have done things that you would not have us do. Accompany us in this moment of silence as we collect our thoughts and offer up to you our wrongs. SILENCE
Love, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Spirit of Unity, you call us into community with you and one another. We lift up to you our broken relationships amongst family, friends, and acquaintances with whom we harbour a hard heart. Be patient with us as we pause and focus on specific broken relationships where our hearts need softening in order to allow for mending and healing. Accompany us in this moment of silence as we offer up to you our trespasses and transgressions.
Love, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Spirit of Mercy, thank you for being generous with your love. We bask in your light, assured of your forgiveness and love.
Love, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Spirit of Peace, we pray for peace amongst the nations. Help us to cease our warring madness. May we no longer send our young men and women to foreign lands to fight for what, we are not sure. We are told, or we tell ourselves, that it is for national security. How feeble our faith must be in you if in our quest for security we arm our youth and direct them to kill people.
Love, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Spirit of Justice, strengthen our resolve to put our trust in you as we pray for peace in conflicted countries around the world. We pray for ____________________. May we work for health, wealth and justice for the peoples of these lands. Make us your agents of justice for all people, your children, our sisters and brothers. Accompany us in this moment of silence as we life our prayers for world peace.
Love in your mercy, Hear our prayers.
Spirit of Love, we pray for peace in ourselves. We come afflicted with physical conflict, with illness and aging. Should the outcomes of these conflicts not be the healing and recovery we desire, help us remember that nothing can separate us from your love, neither death nor life, nor anything else in all creation. Bear with us, as we wrap our minds around your constant, steadfast love.
Love, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
