Lent 4, Year B

‘Give thanks to God for God is good,
with a love that never fades.’
Keep on saying these words
to recall how you have been saved,
rescued from your adversaries,
brought home from exile,
from east and west,
from south and north.

Not everyone was wise, many falling into sinfulness,
and some, dicing with death.
Yet, floundering, they called on their God
Who came to their rescue.
Healing came at God’s command.
No longer, for them, the shadow of the grave.
They owe God their thanks for
this unfailing love,
for this wonderful intercession.
