Trust, hymn — Sam Goodman, UK

Trust, Watched Word by John Potter, UK

Written waiting in hospital
Tune: Finlandia, Be still my soul

Trust all to God and feel the reassurance
That has held those who call to God in prayer
Through trials and snares and times of hard endurance
Come, feel a sense of wonder in the air
Trust all to God, to arms that always hold us
Be sure to know God’s tenderness and care

Rest in safe arms that love without condition
Stay in this sanctuary and rest a while
Be quiet now and give yourself permission
To let your loving parent tend their child
Rest in safe arms be still enough to listen
This sanctuary is where you need to be

Remain in love, and let God’s care surround you
Be sure to feel the prayers of those who care
And let abundant hope be wrapped around you
Call at all times on God who’s always there
Remain always attuned to love’s protection
Let prayerful gentleness encompass us

God is our strength, our fortress and our tower
God is our help, our comfort and our guide
A sure companion, gentle but with power
An ever present carer at our side
God loves us all enough to die in our place
In all we face we’ll never be alone
